I know it’s been a few weeks since we last met. We waited to send the December recap until we could officially announce the first item below.
SODZ Anniversary Glasses are Here
The Board wanted to commemorate the 30th year of the club with a gift to our members! All members in good standing will receive a SODZ 30th Anniversary glass. How to claim your glass:
- From 12/31/25 to 1/17/26, glasses will be available at Hoster Brewing Co. during normal taproom hours. The bartenders have a list of members and will check off your name.
- We’re also scheduling a SODZ Happy Hour at Hoster for Friday 1/2/26 at 4 pm. That way picking up your glass can be a social occasion, and it’s also Firkin Friday at Hoster!
- Remaining glasses will be available at the January club meeting at Grove City Brewing Co. on 1/19/26.
- After that, we’ll bring glasses to future club meetings as necessary.
December Holiday Party Recap
We had a great time once again at Combustion Clintonville, and we thank Keith for hosting us! The White Elephant bottle exchange was fun, with some really good beers being gifted and stolen. I’m very happy with the large format Duvel that I went home with!
We also announced that the SODZ Board will have a “retreat” in January to spend half of a Saturday planning long-term club goals and admin things like updating our out-of-date Bylaws. We’ll let you know what comes of the meeting, and we won’t make any major changes without first sharing with the membership.
Can you help?
- For Dry January we’re looking for someone to host a January weeknight NA beer tasting in their home, for up to 12 members. This will be similar to previous style tastings, but we’ll select a few NA beers and taste alongside the regular versions (e.g. Guinness Draught vs. Guinness Zero).
- Aaron Davis is working on putting together a Homebrew Tour for early 2026. If you’re interested in being one of the home breweries on the circuit, let him know. Due to geography, we might end up with a couple separate tours, scheduled for different times. No dates have been set yet.
