If you’re a SODZ member and want to get more involved, consider serving in a leadership position. We hold informal elections each April, with the new Board taking over in May. Sandy Hugill
President ✉
Sandy joined SODZ in 2020 when meetings were conducted virtually. She credits her experience with the club as instrumental in her career change into the craft beer community. A Certified Cicerone® and a BJCP Certified Beer, Cider, and Mead judge, Sandy has judged both homebrew and commercial competitions in the US and Canada. Her industry resume includes Great Lakes Brewing Co, Pretentious Barrel House, Thunderwing Brewing, Untappd/Next Glass, and her current role at Hoster Brewing. Sandy previously served as the SODZ Vice President. She appreciates all beer styles, but has a special place in her heart for English Barleywine.
Jeremy Eberle
Vice President ✉
Jeremy joined SODZ in 2023 and is new to the SODZ board. He started homebrewing in 2013 while in graduate school and finally found a home within the SODZ community. Jeremy is passionate about sharing his love of the homebrewing hobby. You can check out his blog, Brew the Looking Glass. His favorite styles to drink and brew are German Lagers, particularly Munich Helles, or his Irish Red Ale, St. Brigid’s Feast.
Kelly Woods
Treasurer ✉
Kelly started her brewing journey on a gas stove around 2009. She is passionate about beer, spacecraft, science fiction, fish, rocks, and the Oxford comma. She was lucky to find SODZ, as her husband and most of her friends don’t like beer. The sarcasm is strong with this one. In addition to Kelly’s current board position, she serves as the Judge Coordinator for British Beerfest and Beer for Boobs.

Jared Parko
Secretary ✉
Jared started homebrewing in 2014 and joined SODZ in 2018. He discovered a respect for microbes and fermentation many moons ago which led him to brewing. With help from SODZ members he recently began the journey to become a Certified beer judge through the Beer Judge Certification Program [ BJCP ]. Before serving as club Secretary Jared helped coordinate the SODZ monthly club theme competitions. He enjoys outdoor activities ( including yard games) and brewing in his side drive with friends and family. As for beer styles he enjoys sampling the wide variety of beers of the world but loves a good dark malt forward ale.
