Hi SODZ Members,
Thank you to everyone who came to Hoster for the September meeting and the start to another great SODZ year. The meeting covered several key updates and celebrations for the club.
Membership and Dues
The club unanimously voted to increase membership dues to cover the $700 annual AHA insurance premium. Members who are also active AHA members should notify the Membership Director, as the club can receive a full premium reimbursement if 75% of the roster holds AHA membership. The club currently has 113 active members.
Upcoming Events
The next meetings are scheduled for October 19 at The Brew Brothers and November 16 at Campfire Brewing. The annual holiday party will take place on December 14 at Combustion Clintonville (note that this is the second Monday, not the third). The January meeting location is currently TBD but the February location will be at Barleys. The Beer 4 Boobs competition is set for Saturday, October 24, at Thunderwing Brewing; members have registration priority and volunteers are needed for fundraising and event-day support. Also stay tuned for an update on learn to Homebrew day November 7th.
Club Projects and Programs
The Volunteer of the Year (VOTY) program is entering its second year with updated rules and point structures now available on the website. The Sour Barrel Project is officially underway, with the barrel filled on September 13 and expected to age for 12 to 18 months.
